I’ve never realized how quick and complete the seasonal turn-over is before. In stores, I mean. You don’t normally go shopping for bug spray and sun screen and light cotton tops in late October, in Canada, but when you’re suddenly forced to do so… it’s kind of an exercise in frustration as you run from store to store looking for something as simple and ubiquitous as Deep Woods OFF! – only to find that it’s all run away for the winter and the shelves it used to live on are now covered with mini Christmas Trees and Jack-o-Lanterns.
… I suppose that pine is sort of an insect repellent and the pumpkins might be burning citronella candles, but it’s still no use to me.
