I love fall. Or, autumn if you prefer to call it that.
It’s my favourite time of year. I love the changing colours of the leaves, the crispness in the air, the crunch of leaves under your feet and the smell. Because there is a smell to fall, I think it’s a combination of dirt and mouldering leaves and cold, which doesn’t sound all that appealing when you think about it, but somehow it is. And I don’t know how cold can have a smell but it does. Just trust me on this. I like how the days get cooler and you have to dig out your sweaters. I love the colours, the oranges and reds. Plus, fall has Halloween, which is just fun. Candy and costumes? What’s not to like?
I’m glad I live in a place that has changing seasons, it makes you appreciate spring, summer and fall when you have to live through winter. Winter is fun…for the first month of two, but then after the thousandth time that you’ve fallen on your ass because there was ice hidden under that fine layer of snow you begin to long for it to just go away. I’m saying I’m clumsy is what I’m saying. But in the meantime, I am enjoying fall.
